This summer is set to be historic for Málaga Airport. Airlines are offering nearly 20 million seats across almost 110,000 flights, representing an 11% increase compared to last year's summer season, according to Euroweeklynews.com.
According to publicly available statistics, the Costa del Sol region experienced a remarkable increase in both tourism and new residents in 2023. Málaga Airport alone handled a record-breaking 12.2 million international arrivals to Andalusia last year, according to Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), surpassing the previous record of 12.02 million set in 2019. “This sends a clear message to property investors that southern Spain is now even more popular with tourists than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Viktor Margita, co-owner of Viva España Real Estate.
Do you think a seaside holiday on the Costa del Sol is only worth taking during the summer months? Let us prove you wrong. If you have the opportunity, pack your suitcase with light clothing and head to southern Spain now—you'll be pleasantly surprised. Daytime temperatures are already climbing above 20°C, the skies are cloudless, and it's not even March yet.
Owning a property by the sea may seem like an impossible dream—but what if it isn't? In Prague, a 60-square-metre apartment costs around CZK 7.5 million. On the Costa del Sol, apartments in good condition, close to the beach and within easy reach of the airport, start at around €250,000—approximately CZK 1.25 million less than in the Czech capital. And for buyers who do not wish to pay the full purchase price upfront, Viva España can help arrange mortgage financing. “We are able to secure mortgages for Czech and Slovak clients with interest rates starting at 3.75% and fixed terms of up to 20 years, financing 50–60% of the property's value,” says Viktor Margita, co-founder of Viva España.
You can invest your money in almost anything. However, analysts agree that real estate tends to retain its value. If you are considering buying an apartment or house as an investment opportunity, it can represent a low-risk investment with a steady income—provided the property is purchased for the purpose of regular rental returns. The Costa del Sol coastline, with its guarantee of the sunniest weather in Europe, offers excellent opportunities in this regard.

You will see the words “Feliz Navidad” on almost every corner, and Christmas songs start playing on the radio as early as November. Most importantly, everyone genuinely enjoys it! Join us on a festive journey through Spanish Christmas traditions.
Spain has long been one of the most visited countries in the world. For example, in 2022, according to data from the national Ministry of Tourism, 71 million foreign tourists arrived in the country and spent €87 billion. Just as the number of returning tourists has surged after the COVID-19 pandemic, so has interest in purchasing local real estate. Viva España takes care of its clients both before and after the purchase of a new home by the sea.
Think Spain is only about the sea and beaches? Think again. Mountain lovers can also enjoy plenty of winter fun in the snow. Today (December 5th), the Sierra Nevada ski resort opens to the public, and it takes only about an hour and a half to get there by car.
In October, we spent four days taking care of a nine-member TV crew from TV JOJ, who were filming the “Nové Bydlení” (New Housing) program with our support.
