Some places you visit, enjoy for a few days and then leave behind. And then there are places that stay with you. For many people, Costa del Sol is exactly that kind of place. “We often meet people who arrive for the first time simply for a holiday. Within just a few days, however, they start wondering what it would be like to actually live here,” says Viktor.
It’s Not Just About the Sunshine
The weather is, of course, one of the main reasons people are drawn to Costa del Sol. But sunshine alone would not be enough. What makes the region truly attractive is the combination of sea, mountains, nature, gastronomy, vibrant cities and charming Spanish towns.
In the morning, you can be by the sea, spend the afternoon playing golf or exploring the mountains, and end the day with dinner overlooking the coast. And everyone can find their own version of Spain here. Some people are drawn to the atmosphere of Marbella, others prefer the quieter pace of Estepona, while some choose Mijas or want to be close to amenities, restaurants and the energy of city life.
“Clients often arrive with a specific location in mind. After viewing several properties, however, they realise that the lifestyle itself matters more to them than the name of the place,” Viktor adds.
When Does a Holiday Become Home?
Perhaps it happens when you stop asking where to go in the evening and start thinking about where you would do your grocery shopping. When you begin wondering what it would be like to come here in autumn or spend part of the winter under the Spanish sun.
That is when a holiday can turn into a serious consideration of owning a home. And perhaps that is why people keep coming back to Costa del Sol. Not just for the weather, the beaches or the beautiful views.
