FROM TRADITION TO GLAMOUR IN MARBELLA

A visit to historic city centres such as Mijas, Marbella, Benalmádena, Estepona or Fuengirola reveals shops in white houses, pretty squares and pedestrian streets. And there are always plenty of cafes on the sidewalk where you can relax after the shopping.

The Costa del Sol is also home to one of the most prestigious and exclusive ports in Spain. You'll find leading luxury international brands in Puerto Banús in Marbella. Shops are usually open for longer and many are open every day of the week.

BUSINESS PARADISE IN MALAGA

Malaga is itself the Costa del Sol’s shopping centre and its main shopping area is in and around the pedestrian area of Calle Larios. It offers a total of more than 1,000 shops surrounded by monuments and museums and is definitely worth a visit.

Just a 3-minute drive from the airport is the huge outlet "McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Malaga". It is home to a mix of more than 170 brands, including the most sought-after luxury and designer brands alongside international and local brands. Strategically located in close proximity to the highway, the outlet has landscaped walkways, dance fountains, a central luxury square, facilities for a children's playground and 4350 parking spaces.

MOST POPULAR STREET MARKETS

The Costa del Sol is known for its regular street markets. Most of them are outside markets with stalls offering all kinds of goods, local crafts and works of independent designers. They offer the opportunity to buy something unique and original.

Marbella has two of the most charming street markets: Puerto Banús (every Saturday) and La Virginia (twice a year, usually in May and December).

Malaga hosts a very interesting monthly street market with local vendors: Zoco del Muelle Uno (first three Sundays every month). The market stretches along the city's seaside promenade and combines shopping and food stalls.

Other cities, such as Mijas, Benalmádena, Torremolinos and Fuengirola usually have weekly street markets, where you can also find crafts.
