This summer is set to be historic for Málaga Airport. Airlines are offering nearly 20 million seats across almost 110,000 flights, representing an 11% increase compared to last year's summer season, according to Euroweeklynews.com.
The number of available seats has increased significantly across several key European markets, highlighting the growing popularity of the sunny Costa del Sol as a top summer destination. Seat capacity has risen by 20% for German travelers, 14% for Dutch visitors, and an impressive 23% for Italians.
The United Kingdom remains Málaga's largest source market, with 4.7 million seats allocated for British travelers. Of these, 2 million seats are dedicated to flights to and from London alone. Other major connected cities include Paris, Barcelona, Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Manchester, Stockholm, and Copenhagen.
Southern Spain is also becoming increasingly popular outside the peak summer season. In January and February alone, Málaga Airport welcomed 2.7 million passengers, marking a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
Looking at the wider Andalusia region, the area's airports are expected to offer a total of 28.6 million seats on more than 160,000 flights this summer. All signs point to a record-breaking tourist season for the Costa del Sol.
