WHY MOVE TO LA CALA DE MIJAS?
La Cala de Mijas perfectly combines affordable foods and drinks with a blue flag beach.
Until the 1960s, La Cala de Mijas was a small fishing village with several houses and a local church. After the tourist influx, apartment buildings were built, now stretching over 12km of Mijas Costa with luxury Marbella to the west and Fuengirola to the east. The city itself has a main promenade full of shops, international restaurants, and community services.
La Cala Golf, Santana Golf, El Chaparral and Mijas Golf are within easy reach of the beach and offer excellent conditions for playing. Every Saturday there is a popular local market and various festivals and celebrations throughout the year. For example, the Three Kings Festival, held in early January with a street procession, is very popular.
ESTATE
Malaga province was one of the fastest growing provinces after the 2008 crash, with 20% growth in 2015-16 and a 15% increase in 2016-17. It is still possible to find properties with a good price. Almost all properties on offer are apartments, many in blocks with shared pools and gardens.
TRANSPORT
Malaga Airport is just a 20-minute drive away and bus transport is available between the city's main areas. If you take a bus to Fuengirola and from there a train to Malaga, you'll arrive to Malaga in less than an hour and a half.

Cala de Mijas is a city dedicated to tourism services. If you are willing to travel, Marbella offers more diverse options.
