POPULATION
Officially, Benalmadena has a population 67,000 people. About a quarter of the people are foreigners, a third of whom are British.

Benalmadena is located a 15-minute drive away from the center of Malaga and its airport. Public transport is very convenient, with regular bus services and a city railway running through the city going to Malaga and Fuengirola every 20 minutes.

SHOPPING
Benalmadena is a city that loves shopping, and you will find a lot of shops here, regardless of your budget or taste. Most of the small shops are on the main street in the centre of Benalmadena and around the harbour. EDUCATION
In addition to Spanish state education, there is also a selection of private international schools in the city, including the English Institute and the British University.
COST OF LIVING
As the city enjoys tourists, you will find that prices are slightly higher than in some quieter places of the Costa del Sol. But with easy access to out-of-town shopping, you should be able to maintain your monthly budget.
